GOPASHTOMI–1966

INDIAN P.M. KILLED MONKS

SARASIJ MAJUMDER

(WIKIPEDIA/WIRE etc. stated, and cited biased contents)

Gopashtami is a Hindu festival celebrating Lord Krishna’s first time herding cows, marking his transition from childhood to cowherd responsibilities. Observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the bright lunar fortnight (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Kartik, it honors the sacred cow and the relationship between cows and Krishna. The festival includes rituals like bathing and adoring cows and calves, and is widely celebrated in regions like Mathura and Vrindavan,  and partly in Rajasthan as well.

7th November 1966, GOPASHTAMI DAY: A BLACK LETTER DAY FOR HINDUS!!

Shastri ji, also known as Lal Bahadur Shastri, died on January 11, 1966, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, following the signing of the Tashkent Declaration, which ended the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, under pressure from USA—as Pakistan was close, very close to loose Lahore, and the War.

Indira Gandhi went into the race to take control of INC, and wanted to become 3rd P.M. of India.

To ensure her victory, she visited the famous Hindu saint Swami Karpatri and Acharya Vinoba Bhave to seek for their blessings.  They had influence over the old loyalists of  MG and JLN in INC.

Both gave her their blessings on a SINGLE CONDITION, if she wins and becomes the Prime Minister, she will immediately ban cow slaughter all over INDIA.

She agreed.

Indira Gandhi got formally elected as the Prime Minister (Mr. Kamraj was power broker)  by the ruling Indian National Congress party. She was sworn-in as the nation’s third prime minister on 24 January 1966 by President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

At that time, an average of 20,000 cows were killed each day all over India! Today, ‘World in Data’ estimates that around 900,000 cows are slaughtered globally every day. While this figure doesn’t isolate India, India has the world’s largest livestock population and a substantial Cow-Meat-consuming sector, suggesting a significant contribution to this global total. And number of Cows slaughtered is directly proportional to MUSLIM population in India.

In 1989, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUA) report indicated that India’s recognized slaughterhouses processed over 2 million cattle including buffaloes annually.

After Indira Gandhi became P.M.,  Acharya Vinoba Bhave reminded her of the promise she made before. Indira Gandhi said she needed some time to adjust to her responsibilities after which she would fulfil her promise!

But she never had any intention to  fulfil her promise!!

Soon the Hindu organizations started carrying out agitations to demand  ban on the slaughter of cows in India.

Article 48 of the Constitution of India prohibits the slaughter of cows and their progeny ambiguously. Further, this article is only  a Directive Principle of State Policy that guides the state to organize agriculture and animal husbandry on modern and scientific lines, and in particular, to take steps for preserving and improving cattle breeds and prohibiting (??) their slaughter.

Article 48 is a Directive Principle, which means it’s a policy guideline for the government but cannot be enforced by courts. And particularly by Secular Judges of SC, and HC!!

And she refused to accept the demand for a ban on cow slaughter. 1967 was an Election Year!! She can’t annoy Muslims in 1966!!

The Gaurakshak Samiti gave a memorandum and ultimatum to her. She wasn’t ready to hear the people striving for a complete ban of cow slaughter!

The agitation culminated into a massive demonstration outside the Sansad Bhavan in New Delhi on the 7th of November 1966.

As it happened, on the 7th of November 1966, as per the Hindu Panchang the day was Kartik Shukla Ashtami of Vikram Samvat known as Gopashtami Day among religious Hindus,  Swami Karpatri Maharaj organized a protest with a massive agitation Rally which started from the Arya Samaj Temple at Chandni Chowk under the banner of Gaurakshak Maha Abhiyan Samiti. An unified mass comprising of all sects of Hindus  like Sanatani, Arya Samajis, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Naths and Nirankaris marched towards the Parliament of India (Samsad Bhawan) led by the prominent and most revered Hindu saints, the Shankaracharyas of Jagannath Puri, Govardhan Math, and the Dwarka Jyotishpeeth, the seven Peethadhishes of the Vallabh Sampradaya, Ramanuja Sampradaya Peethadhipati, Ramananda Sampradaya Peethadhipati, the Mahant of Gorakhpeeth, Swami Rameshwaranand, Swami Bhisham Ji, Swami Omanand ji , Ramgopal Shalwale of Arya Samaj and the Granthis of various Sikh shrines. Estimated 1,20,000 people including 20 thousand women participated in the rally!

Many People came by night from Vrindavan, and Mathura.

The rally reached near the Parliament and the Parliament session was on. The procession entered the Parliament campus and Delhi witnessed  the first agitation of Hindus to ban cow slaughter in India. At the climax when the agitating Hindus were entering the Parliament, instead of conceding to their justified demand, Indira Gandhi ordered to open fire on the  otherwise peaceful rally.

The Police threw tear gas shells and then started firing ruthlessly on the unarmed masses causing a massive homicide, ordered by Indira Gandhi !

Many Hindus including  Monks were got  massacred in the process.

While the Secular pro-Muslim Congress Government’s official report said only 375 people  were killed, in actual more than 5000 Hindus were brutally massacred then, or succumbed later,  due to the spraying of bullets by the trigger happy Delhi Police.

“THAT WOMAN”—who was a part of murder scheme of ‘SHASTRIJI’—also murdered more than 5,000 Hindus including 400 Sadhus on 7th November, 1966.

A 48 hour curfew was ordered and all meetings were banned.

The dead bodies were cleared, dumped and put on fire at unknown places!

The newspapers didn’t report the incident truthfully. PTI  (08/09/66) report stated that 830 persons—mostly sadhus—had been taken into custody, including Rameshwaranand. Actually the number was many more, as stated later to me by an eye witness!

Opposition leaders, especially those belonging to the Jana Sangh, demanded a judicial inquiry into the killings. That didn’t happen.  Atal Behari Vajpayee, then a Jana Sangh MP, lamented that “the undesirable elements, who resorted to violent activities in the demonstration against cow-slaughter, had done a great harm to the pious cause.”

Even now, 70 years later, a rally is held each year in November 7, at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi to commemorate the 1966 TRAGEDY. I participated in it couple of times in eighties, and heard about the horror stories from the people who survived!!

The martyrs sacrificed their lives for the cause of cow protection.

Indira Gandhi washed off her hands by putting all the blame on the Home Minister Gulzari Lal Nanda who was forced to resign taking responsibility for the administrative failure to maintain law and order. In fact, IG was looking for an alibi to get rid of him!

The Shankaracharya of Govardhan Math Puri, Shri Niranjan Dev Tirtha, Swami Hariharananda widely known as Karpatri Maharaj and Mahatma Ramchandra Veer went on observing a fast unto death for the brutal killings of the Hindu saints and devotees in Delhi. Mahatma Ramchandra Veer observed the longest fast.

The next Home Minister Yashwantrao Balwantrao Chavan or Y. B. Chavan, a puppet of Indira from the 14th of November 1966 till the 27th of June 1970 went to the fasting Saints and promised to bring an anti-Cow slaughter bill in the next session of the Parliament and the Hindu Saints ended their fasting.

As expected,  the anti-Hindu but pro Muslim  Congress as usual never kept their promise!

ब्रह्मशाप /CURSE OF MONK:

*Today, during the cow slaughter movement, Indira Gandhi shot and killed 400 sadhus in one hour in front of the Parliament.*

*I curse the Congress Party that one day a monk doing penance in the Himalayas will capture this Parliament in modern attire and destroy the Congress ideology. This is the curse of a Brahmin and the curse of a Brahmin never goes waste.*

—Karpatri Maharaj, crying in front of Parliament while carrying the dead bodies of sadhus, 7th November, 1966.

 It happened in 2014.

Indira Gandhi was brutally killed in an  exactly similar brutal firing by her bodyguards in 1984. The day she was killed was also the day of Gopashtami on the 31st of October 1984!

 WHAT A COSMIC JUSTICE DELIVERED!!!

The sacrifice of the large number of COW-LOVERS on the 7th of November 1966 is still not atoned by a Legislation to ban indiscriminate cow slaughter in India, particularly during Muslim Festival days, when these animals are killed in most brutal manner, Mr. Modi, many times publicly, in open space.

I request present P.M. of India  to ban Cow/animal slaughter solely on religious ground.

GOI must open slaughter houses for supply of cattle meat to consumers. Cattle shall be selected who are near end of their useful life.

Article 48 shall be amended accordingly.

This year, GOPASHTAMI is on 30th October. Shall we hear something on this from present GOI?

Source:  Actual information on this incident  Congress GAGGED.  The then News Papers, and Intellectuals were suffering from “JLN VIRUS”, and spread mis-information, which are circulating. ‘Hindu’ printed  a biased report as was in recent past on ‘Operation Sindoor’.

However—the information are lying  in some Hindi newspapers of that time, and in other sources in scattered manner—which I compiled.

Disclaimer: Please note that I am not proposing a ban on consumption on Cow Meat as a food for people who are accustomed to it. But—indiscriminate and senseless slaughtering of COW is not acceptable.
